One of my lovely customers and blog reader sent me a very kind package of poctards this week to say thanks for something I had done for her.
Totally unexpected.
Turns out her brother is a well known talented artist - so she thought I may enjoy some postcards of his work or be able to use them in my post crossing adventures - Totally right :) I am so thrilled. The postcards are beautiful - a variety of mixed media on paper and acrylic on canvas. I took some phiotos of the postcards but the pictures don't do the work justice - pop over and check out his work on his website instead.
Thank you Cassie that was so kind :)

It's been the week for lovely packages I tell you
I received a set of the Birds and Bloom Papaya Art postcards from one of my lovely readers Sue this week :) I talked her into letting me send set of the bliss ones that I have here as a swap. Though she originally was just sending them to me out of kindness. I love that about our little on line community
These are such beautiful postcards I don't think I want to be giving them up. Another reader told me there are beautiful Tote bags on the Papaya site as well I'm too scared to look. Well just a peek - dont go there.

This afternoon I collected the girls from Vacation care ( it was SFD today ) and we went for ice cream and coffee. They were so cross this morning they did not want to go to care today - I think over tired from the eisteddfod and so much energy had gone into Mikuni's visit too. So the nice treat of ice cream was exactly what we needed. Sofia found a card at the newsagent she wanted to send to Mikuni so I let her buy it though I have to say it hurts me so much to spend money on hallmark aggggh . We came home to find postcards galore and some letters from pen friends too so they girls wrote quick postcards to all their pen friends and I started a couple of letters.
This evening has been filled with catch up -involving me editing a gazillion postcards - some of my most favourites and editing my flickr to bring my postcard sets up to date.
If anyone can give me a clear explanation of the difference between a collection and a set on flickr and how to use them Id be ever so grateful.
Some postcard love ...
Look at these cuties I love this one so much !
From Belarus and i can't read the details I so wish I knew who this artist was - just gorgeous
I still have a little pile of things here listed to share with you which I will over the next few days.
I also have a super special giveaway next week starting on Monday for those of you who enjoy simple home cooking - this is a little project I have been working on for some time with a crazy story behind it and I'm excited to finally share with you all.So if you are not a regular visitor to my blog you'll want to be this week ;)
Time for a hot tea I think . It's very cool here tonight.

My dear freinds headed to Sydney for the school holidays recently. They were charged with the task of finding postcards and I suggested they check out kinokuniya as they were staying in the heart of Sydney.
They texted to say they found some arty ones.
I said great
Imagine my delight when they came home with these
OMG so good
Then I checked out the Papaya Art website there are so many more I would totally love but the shipping is crazy So I'll just have to wait for more friends to go to sydney!
These ones are on my to get next list
The bonus of course is that when the postcards are long gone you still have the beautiful tin! If anyone knows of a more local stockist I'd love to know!

A little post crossing update and some good finds!
So I have been part of Postcrossing now for 79 days
One of my sent postcards has expired - I sent one to Lithuania 78 days ago - and after 70 days if its not there its classed as expired :(
One went to Russia and took 58 days to get there
My fastest one was to Germany which took 6 days
I have sent 15 cards and received 14
Distance sent: 198,164 km (123,133 miles)
I have also been caught up in the Round Robin bug and am involved with the July and August Alternate RR which is send to 25 people each and also a themed message one which is also 25 people ! Other fun ones but small groups like 4 or 5 I have played in are an Anime swap, Fairy Tales, Mums Around the World, Children's book Illustrations and my latest favourite Vampires:)
This postcard arrived for me this week
Totally love it
Not sure if the Mumma bunny isn't well hence the visitors or if all the gifts are saying its her birthday. I sense a not well, how sweet is it?
I loaded lots more to my flickr which seems to be on a go slow loop and I haven't been able to get in to sort them- so don't look LOL
Now for the bargain buys.. cause I do find buying postcards here on the Gold Coast very difficult Im often trawling etsy and other places for good buys
30 postcards in this book - it was $5.45 I had a 10% off voucher at Book depositary with free shipping
seriously? One birthday card costs that much in the store and the cards are delightful
Jam tart anyone?
I'm loving images of hedgehogs lately :)
and then these ones
They are $9.95 for 30 and a more ecclectic mix of images but very nice !
Rainy day bunny
I wish I lived somewhere it snowed- one day
its like a sweet little bluebird bride don't you think?

A couple of weeks ago I created some new blog headers for Mel for her One Crafty Mumma blog
This one for her main blog this one for her cooking blog this one for her camping blog this one for her postcard blog and of course Miss Bella couldn't go without a little redo too. It was during the time when I was resting and sitting in front of the computer for a while was about all I could cope with so I appreciated the chance to do something creative
So to say thank you I just received this gorgeous pack in the mail :) The most divine letter set -perfect cause I owe some letters to my new penfriends
Lovely postcards I think these are from the Girls who Draw - Menagerie set I think they are due to put a new pack out soon Ill be totally snaffling them when they do!
The prettiest card and all wrapped in delicious strawberry and cherry fabric which Im squirreling away for a project I already have in mind.
So many projects not enough time!
Thanks Mel so gorgeous. Love a happy mail day :)

Yesterday and today saw another dozen cards land in my post box.
I was so happy to receive my very first Belle and Boo
and this interesting one from Belarus I'm not sure where it is of as the details aren't in English but I loved the sketch drawing and colour
I also received this cute one which made me smile as it's an etsy seller that I have been checking out -
and a Hello Kitty which the girls thought they should claim - I think not
and another interesting card is this rose window one with beautiful images of the St Albans Cathedrals stained glass windows.
I know I say it all the time but seriously so lovely getting the postcards. Have you caught the postcrossing bug yet??
