Hello and welcome to a Sunday night crochet update. I have to confess that mine is rather slow. Not because I haven't been crocheting I have. It's just that I keep getting distracted by all the other pretty things out there.
I have ten bands of colour done - how may do I have to do ???
I joined revelry as suggested but I'm a little lost there - it's almost like there is too much to see so I am staying with pinterest at the moment.
I bought this fab little book from spotlight called Crafternoon - what cute name and some feltable wool which I'm yet to try.
It also has a whole slew of projects I would like to try.
In the interim I have completed this one
I
used a pretty cotton for this - it's like a suede or it feels like it. I
really liked crocheting with it. This one was called not your grandma's
doily. Pattern is here.
I found this pin on pinterest and followed it along to this site - which has a million trillion cool things too. I read it and decided that yes I could probably tackle it - all I needed to be able to do was a chain, single crochet a double crochet and a slip stitch - YAY I could do all of those things.
Next was what to use . I found this lovely stuff at spotlight and cluelessly bought it and started crocheting.- On special $2.50 a ball - half price yay
Needless to say that very early on I realised that the pattern was going to be way too big. Plus I only bought one ball? What the? So had to go back.
I edited the pattern without really knowing what I was doing. The original pattern is here .
Ta da - Here is my finished project. I love it so much. Four little coasters and a placemat.
For the record it will match my ripple along blanket perfectly - If I ever get it finished.
If anyone wants to give it a try and use that lovely thick cotton here is what I changed it to. It wasn't vastly different just a few rounds less and the coasters are a chain less each on the final round. It was pretty fast to do. Maybe 3 hours all up?
3 balls beige and I ball chocolate for one set - 1 placemat and 4 coasters.

So what's next ? I'm open to suggestions - actually I would really like a sweet pincushion idea and I'm also after some of these rings. I bought the birch ones from spotlight but honestly they are terrible. I have this single solitary one and it's so good. If you see these in your travels please link me up!
In the interim its rainy again here what a surprise and tonight is filled with way too much TV - Downton, Elementary, Logies, MKR, Biggest Loser - my head is going to explode with choice so I think I will ripple along.
So happy that I now have the crochet bug! How is your blanket coming along or do you have a cool project link ??? Please let me know.
