Hi! I'm Anne @ Domesblissity. I'm a married, (older) stay at home Mum of a 7 year old girl and 5 year old boy living in the sunny State of Queensland. I love food, love to cook it, bake it and eat it. I also am flat out most of the time with two young children, a husband and two dogs to look after so my days of labour intensive gourmet cooking have been exchanged for quick, easy, frugal recipes. I have old fashioned values. Love sewing, crocheting, knitting, crafting, thrifting and try to make do with what I have. My blog reflects my life and the journey.
I'm trying to help Tamar's blog tick along while she undergoes treatment and hope you might like this fun way to decorate cupcakes. It's my daughter's 7th birthday and the usual cupcakes for school so instead of the usual icing and sprinkles, I decided on creating Rainbow Fish. It's dead easy and a fun way to decorate cupcakes for all ages.
What you'll need:
Cupcakes (Note: I don't use cupcake papers for school - it's one less thing they have to worry about and I also use the mini muffin pan)
Quantity of icing/frosting
Smarties or M&M's
Xtreme Sour Straps (cut into triangle pieces)
Black icing writing pen
Method:
- Ice cupcakes.
- Arrange Smarties/M&M's on one half of the cupcake, vertically.
- Place piece of sour strap on back of cupcake for fish tail.
- Using icing writing pen, mark spot for an eye.
These cupcakes would make a great addition for an underwater themed party. For a different effect, match coloured icing with colour of Smartie/M&M, ie all pink, green, yellow etc.
