A Collection of Thoughts

Sunday

Today we headed to mass - it was so good to go and our family priest has returned so was able to give us a special blessing. The girls have now trained as alter servers and Richard and I were on reading but I wasn't up to it someone filled in for me.

We then headed for coffee and milkshakes with friends at Robina.

This afternoon  Margie Phil and Ryan ( our godson ) and Barb ( his Grandma) popped in for cake and a spot of gift giving :)

I am now the proud owner of blingy flat shoes that will allow me to be much more steady on my feet during the unsteady weeks :)

So spoilt.

Our family of owls is coming along quite well- not brilliantly sewn as my eys are dodgy but they are quite cute sort of wonky - hopefully over the next few days I'll be good to finish them off.

There is rugby watching happening in our house tonight - And Richard has made a roast chicken dinner.

I intend to watch Terranova and Underbelly tonight -really enjoying both series

For just  a moment you would think that everything is as it was.

Except tomorrow will be Monday and I wont get up to go to work

That still feels strange.

This is hands down my fav fav collection - vintage and sewing whats not to love. This is a collection inspired by Iara's childhood memories. Her mother was a seamstress and she spend a great part of my time playing "under" her sewing machine.

Quick check in

Just a quick check in to say I'm on day two past chemo I'm having a rough day today - but nice that yesterday was much better than first time round.

Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes for yesterday  - My inbox is out of control Im sorry I can't reply to you all but please know your contact means so much to us.

Ive finished my steroids today so  fingers crossed fro a good day tomorrow :)

Happy Birthday - To Me

To be honest it feels like it's been my birthday since diagnosis. I have been blown away by the thoughtful letters and cards that have literally streamed in.

Here is a little compilation- a mix of crafty and pretty and blythe goodies:) Some from friends some from strangers some from family. You must check out this cute as birthday tribute over on my lovely friend Tammys blog :) Made me cry.

Tonight I am thankful for my husband and my girls.

We shared home made vege soup from my Ma and they all had some cake. I'm not up to it yet but there is  plenty left for tomorrow :) 

Turning 40 has been tumultuous to say the least - who knows what the next year or indeed next 5 years will bring. Usually I like to make a list of things that I'd like to do over the year - This year I'm going to leave that be.

Who would have thought that for my 40 I would spend some time at the barber having the last of my hair removed.
