My girls are the party planning gurus - It doesn't even need to be an occasion for them to want to throw some kind of party.
For them it's all about the cake and of course the cute decorations and making.
The Ninth birthday party has been much talked about for some time ( months ) and they have been swinging between a fancy dress tea party and a sleep over and a treasure hunt ..and the list goes on.
So you can imagine my dread about having to have yet another "things have to be a bit different conversation". I'm sad that they have already had to grow up too much in the last few weeks and I have been stressed about what to do this year.
I finally broached the topic and the girls were awesome. We have come up with a plan all around Judy Moody which revolves around the movie and then a kids meal at a restaurant afterwards. We are planning it early so that when their birthday rocks around then we can celebrate with family then too.
This way I can concentrate on just creating cute goodie bags and then turn up on the day.
The girls are thrilled and I'm excited that it still feels like a party we would normally do.
Today I created the "All Access Backstage" passes which I'll print and pop into lanyards for each of the girls to wear on the day.
Simple to make - just using a movie poster image and this download which allows you to generate a barcode saying whatever you like- A bit of text over the top and now all I need is some a lanyards with ribbon.
We will attach mood rings to each one too- they are on special at diva at the the moment for 50% off if you buy two:)
Here's a peek at the invites - same concept just with the details all listed.
I'll share more as it unfolds :) Oh and for those of you who aren't in the Grade Three movie watching zone here's a peek at the movie
How fun does it look?
Happy Days.
