If you are reading blogs chances are you are either totally organised -and hence won't need this post as your gifts are already wrapped - or like me are procrastinating and ignoring the to do list in search of anything that looks like fun to do :)
I love to wrap but usually I leave it to the last second and then throw things together - this year I am determined not to be wrapping christmas eve - I will let you know how that goes :)
Tonight I spent time wrapping my crafty friends gifts - they are always fun to do because usually they contain stuff I would like to get myself LOL and I like to to wrap them as I would like to receive them.
Here they are altogether - dodgy photo but its late and please excuse the dining room table- all manner of things there. I didn't tidy up to shoot these photos - obviously
I have found the trick to not getting bored with wrapping is to have a variety of bits and bobs out ready to go and as long as the elements all coordinate you can't go too wrong.
I have two things which are my go tos - Tissue paper - in large sheets and brown paper - or brown paper bags. They are my staples.
Then add to the selection
- Some string / leather/ twine/ribbon - whatever you can find
- Paper doilies a variety of sizes
- Christmas decos -I buy them at 50 % off in the sales and keep them for decorations on presents.
- Washi Tape
- Christmas Stamps and ink
These are wrapped in polka dots and tissue paper - add a large doilie and ribbon and tie a decoration on top. This year I have found decos for wrapping at spotlight and at Target - Those bells come in a packet of 5 for $1.50 half price.
One of my favourites - but that is be I want one LOL - I used these flowers which were part of the gift to decorate the parcels - tie with leather string and clip your flower brooch to it.
Washi tape - with red checks or green polka dots I have also used is a fast but effective wrapping
I found this kraft coloured box so I just repurposed it - and dragged out some old christmas stamps too :)
and finally good old brown paper bags - add a paper doily stapled to the top and your tag with some ribbon. Use washi tape on the parcels that are for boys :)
My tags are printed from over here With thanks to Ranjini for pointing them out :)
May your wrapping be fun and fast :)
