How sweet are these?????? Wishing for the gazillionth time that I wasn't wool phobic...
I was asked to share my ice cream recipes so here we go
if you are just tuning in we have borrowed an ice cream maker so that Tals can work on a food production assignment on dairy - we are making ice cream to share with the class
So first up we tried a crazy complicated recipe requiring many steps and me doing it all and umm no we aren't making 5 batches of that
BUT
Oh my goodness it was soooo good
White Chocolate with Milk Choc Chip ice cream
1 cup milk
2 cups thickened cream
150g chopped white chocolate
5 egg yolks
½ cup caster sugar
1/2 cup choc chips
1.Place milk in a saucepan and heat -bring to the boil being careful not to scold.
2.Whisk egg yolks and sugar together for 3-4 minutes, until light and creamy.
3.Gradually whisk in hot milk mixture into yolk mixture until well combined.
4.Return the mixture into a clean saucepan and cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, over low heat until mixture thickens and coats the back of the spoon.
5.Transfer mixture to a bowl.Add the chopped chocolate and mix until melted.
6.Allow to cool.
6.Add in the cream
7.Churn in your ice cream maker
8.With 5 minutes to go add in the choc chips
8.Transfer mixture to an airtight container and freeze until firm.
So tonight we tried this simple recipe - and it turned out GREAT
EASY Chocolate Ice Cream5 tablespoons of drinking chocolate
1 tin condensed milk
125 ml milk
125 ml cream
Mix together the milk and condensed milk. Dissolve the cocoa in a little hot water. When fully dissolved stir it into the condensed milk mixture. Add mixture to ice cream maker.
So we are making another batch of this tomorrow night
and then moving over to try this vanilla recipe
EASY Vanilla Ice Cream
250 ml light cream
1 tin of condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
Mix together and then add to ice cream maker
Ill let you know if it works too
