Sunday Projects

Today saw a total revamp of my craft room - from top to bottom
I love to do that remind myself of projects I have put off and just readjust everything

I learnt today that I hoard

• polka dot fabric
• acrylic stamps
• and vintage lace

with buttons and bling a very close 4th

I have had a request for more info on yesterdays project - which was not my own creation - Ive forgotten totally where I saw it flickr - or blog hopping eek sorry.

I loved the idea and wanted to replicate it - I often grab a bunch of flowers from the markets and thought this would be a lovely way to display it.

I didn't have any bingo numbers but the fab Miss Jilly came to the rescue and allowed me to rummage through until I found the numbers that had meaning for our family

So start with some jars from stacks or crazy clarks - $2 and $1 ones
I actually used  vineger bottles as well - just pulled the corky top things out and some screw jars

 Some twine from Riot - quite thick - use  dimensional magic or glossy accents to adhere - I put the  glue to the bottle iin a  zigzag  and then wrapped the twine - making the start and the end on the same side so that could become the back

Attach wooden bingo numbers  using the same glue

I asked the girls what they thought the significance of the numbers two and four were and Sof said its before us it was just you two then with us it became four

which I thought was sweet

I had originally thought family of 4 and 2 children but I like her version better

Right off to sort out the kitchen and then start a new project in my organised room :)

Saturday 19th

first day of holidays
 YAY

1. Mini pancakes strawberries and banana with maple syrup for breakfast
2. The beginning of a craft project I ve been wanting to do for ages
3. The girls making cards for a birthday party latter in the morning
4. We decided on a set of fabric to make fabric banners for the girls rooms
5. Bubbles the puppy is home with us again for TWO weeks of the holidays :)
6. My bargain buy yesterday at DJs- just $1 each! down from $27.95!!!! - really they are christmas decos but I'm keeping them out all year round
7. Hot tea with my mug wrapped in my newly arrived mug warmer from Sarah
8. Presents wrapped for the party
9. Craft Project finished
10. Fresh flowers from the markets :)
11. Face painted girl home from the party.

totally determined to work through and get some things done that I have been wanting to for ages - today was a great start!

I'm beginning to think about my to do list

Its going to be quite different from the usual list of jobs  and all about creating and beautifying some things around the house and doing some stuff I haven't done before :)

 naturally my favourite part of holidays is that I don't feel guilty reading

 I have been looking for some new books and just saw this on good reads

 Six years after the phenomenal success of The Time Traveler's Wife, Audrey Niffenegger has returned with a spectacularly compelling and haunting second novel set in and around Highgate Cemetery in London.

When Elspeth Noblin dies of cancer, she leaves her London apartment to her twin nieces, Julia and Valentina. These two American girls never met their English aunt, only knew that their mother, too, was a twin, and Elspeth her sister. I say it every month  its sooo good
but seriously -I am so blessed to work with these amazing women who share their creativity with me month after month. It seems to know no end.

Saturday to do list ...

1. Print invoices and labels
2. Pack teckni Colour Collections
3. Buy some fresh fruit for a lunch platter for my packing team :)
4. Pick up next months goodies from my market vendors
5. Pack the girls and Richard up to go to BBQ and swim

 I have until 11.30 to make this all happen - on track printing as I blog

 Keen for Richard to get back from his golf lesson with a coffee for me:)
