Fever Pitch Excitement

in our house with the realisation that it is just one week till....

So there was some dancing some practise walking, some pretend model poses, much giggling and the inevitable discussion about what will our special dinner be for the very first week.

Necklaces - sighh

I just dont get why  Anthropologie -won't ship this far - they ship to 38 other countries- we aren't one of them.
Richard I suspect is very pleased about this - as each time I complain he says oh well one day they may - I think he has his fingers crossed behind his back though.

Monsters Vs Aliens

We took the girls on Frdya night to see Monster Vs Aliens - Usually I leave Richard to do these sorts of movies and I do HSM and girlie ones. But as things worked out we were all right to go

Let me tell you - laugh .. it was so good.

 The girls loved Susan

and now walk around quoting her

B.O.B.: What do people scream when they see you coming? Like "Look out! Here comes...?"
[leaves the question hanging]
Susan Murphy: Susan.
B.O.B.: [spookily] SUUUUSSAAANN!
[beat]
B.O.B.: Ooh, I just scared myself!

and gigling hysterically each time ( wears thin LOL)

But I loved this little dude - especially at the end - I won't spoil it for you.

Easter Sunday

I know it was a week ago but I'm only just getting round to editing the photos

We traditionally go to my grandparents place for a BBQ after church on Easter Sunday  - our job is to make the sweets and we always try to do something very fun and Eastery..

We chose.  I prepared everything in advance  but we were still running madly late - Richard ended up putting the eyes and beaks on the chicks and the girls had flour everywhere as we rolled out the biscuit dough- no clue why I didn't put aprons on them - I had to sponge down their dresses. 

Nana Eve always goes to great lengths to make the egg hunt fun  and writes clues and creates little easter baskets - and the children get non choclate gifts as well which is always so appreciated.

Baby Mia is just 5 months old and doesn't get the fuss but Joey is all over the celebration- We tried to get a shot of the four of them but too much to ask!

Saturday Night Cooking

The girls decided they wanted to cook ...

sigh its good really it is - but I couldn't get them to settle on just making one thing they wanted to make their own things

Sof went for chocolate muffins - recipe here  as if we haven't had enough choc with easter

and Tals went with  Caramel Apple Pudding - recipe here

I was told to take photos open difficult containers and just watch

 So I did

Muffins were great -  Apples we wouldnt try again -not huge fans of golden syrup
Sof also added a huge amount! of choc chips - kinda by accident LOL

Recipe adapted from www.taste.com.au with a couple of changes

    * 1 cup (150g) plain flour
    * 2 tbs cocoa powder
    * 2 tsp baking powder
    * 1 egg
    * 2 tbs (40g) caster sugar
    * 120ml milk
    * 50g butter, melted
    * 100g dark chocolate, melted
    * Lots of choc chips

Method

   1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
   2. Sift the flour, cocoa and baking powder, and choc chips into a bowl with a pinch salt. In a separate bowl, combine the egg, sugar, milk and melted butterand melted chocalate, then stir into the dry ingredients until just combined - don't overmix. Pour the mixture into 12 medium-size muffin cases.
   3. Place on a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes or until risen, then remove and allow to cool.
   4. Decorated with sifted icing sugar

Easter Share

Flew by in a sugary blur - or was that the girls?

The baskets were put to good use

 Trying not to stress about the state of my carpet - but the girls spent nearly an hour creating  rainbows and pictures from the  jelly beans scattered through the house by EB

Along with  Jelly beans and eggs were also beads especially for church - EB found them at Cotton on where we saw them earlier in the week
