Happy Mother's Day

to all the mums and all the mums to be and all of you who have dreamed of being a mum

I think Ngaire says it best ...

I was spekaing to my sister last night- she has 4 children - 3 boys and a girl and I daily take my hat off to her..

I say how is it going?
She says its hard work
I say it's always hard work
She says I know that now .
and we laugh - cause you have to.

I used to think that once we got through the not sleeping, the toilet training, the teething, the whatever phase it would get easier

I too now know that it just doesn't  - each phase gets replaced with another one and a different set of issues.

Today we spent time in the I am not listening to anything you say phase. One of my personal favourites and unfortunately one that i think may hang around for a few years.

We have had a lovely day though - started with the obligatory home made gorgeous jars of glitter filled with their smiles - they  always come up with such cute ideas at school and a number of handmade cards and bought ones that they chose themselves at the newsagent - I think that process drives Richard crazy I love that he does it..Breakfast early at the Marriot.

Richard took photos I think this may be my first year of mothers day when  actually have a photo of the girls and I

After breakfast we went in search of the bits to make a terrarium - you'd think it would all be at one place but no...The vase part from target the  planting mix and plants from bunnings and the rocks from the reject shop- Don't go to the pet barn they don't have good terrariums - my other tip would be  - don't make them in the house!

This is a gift the girls have made for their After School Care group leader who tragically lost her daughter to cancer last week.
Terraniums

Richard is washing hair and bathing children - roast lamb is in the crockpot ready to go.
I return to work tomorrow for just a few hours.. Hoping its all going to be smooth.
Enjoy the rest of your evening and thanks for popping in.

PS the  Inklination images are in the  gallery now and I have put more stock up as this was sold out.
thank you

Fairy Picnic

So we took a leaf out of Mels book - LOLOL  sorry couldn't resist and headed to the park to collect some leaves and goodies to do some craft this afternoon - It kinda doubles for talk time too - every week the girls have to present something at talk time at school - it gets tricky to come up with topics some weeks and I'm reluctant to let them take in polly pockets and say these are my polly pockets - you know? (though believe me there are weeks like that!)

So this week - tomorrow they can share their leaf craft.

It was a beautiful day and great chance to get some shots- sometimes the girls are not very cooperative - who am i kidding they are rarely are - they love having their photos taken but usually its all about silly poses and they are at the fake smile thing that 5 years do. Despite the odds I did get some nice ones...

It's not a picnic without cupcakes - but really too much effort this morning to make them so we stopped at Brumbies for the goodies  and also at Maccas for the Mumma Dadda Coffee

We have a beautiful park near home that has swans and ducks - Sofia loves the ducks and always wants to go feed them. She can sit for ages and watch them.

Today she says  -Mumma I wish I was a duck.  Why is that  I ask?  Cause then I could just swim all day and people would feed me yummy bread.

I wonder what age you have to be before you decide it's not cool to wear fairy wings ... hopefully many many years away or  better yet -never.

Friday April 25th

Talia woke me this morning with what are we going to do today Mumma. Its' a special day - Anzac Day...
So we decided on some craft , some cooking and tonight we will light a candle and place the wreaths that they have been working on through the day. Richard sat with Tali and watched the services on TV as he used to with his father once he became to ill to march. Maybe next year they will be  old enough to join the school marches.
