I am not responsible for any addiction that comes from this recipe.
I do like fudge and it used to be something I would buy as a treat at Mt Tamborine for Richard and I from the fudge shop.
and then I found this recipe.
125g butter
1½ cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 can condensed milk
180g white chocolate ( I use nestle buds )
optional- macadamia nuts
In a saucepan melt the butter brown sugar golden syrup and condensed milk until bubbling - then lower the heat stir with a wooden spoon for 10 minutes ( sorry yes you really do have to do this part )I just set my timer so I know I have done it.
add in the white chocolate and stir - it will get really thick - I have had to give this to Richard to do.
Pour into a prepared tin ( square tin with some alfoil in bottom - press in macadamia nuts if you like)
Refrigerate till firm
Cut into chunks ( I mean pieces)
and now my buying days are over
because it's a crazy price and two one small bit is nothing when you can have a whole tray!
Though I highly highly recommend that you only make it when you have people over to help share the guilt- or else dish half of it out to your neighbours.
If can be very strong willed then one piece each night with your cup of tea is also a great plan.
I may have two pieces.
