Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, 40 days of prayer, fasting and confession leading up to the Easter holy week.
I think I am surprised by how quickly the year is passing.
Tonight we went to mass . I'm not good at taking my camera out at church and taking photos though I am sure it would be okay it just doesn't feel right - though it's such a big part of our life I'd like to work out a way to document it better.
We have been having lots of discussions in our house around what does this Lenten period mean to us this year in particular. It has been two years since Richard became Catholic. We know now how much God was working with our family to make that happen and for that we are in awe of the way he works. We never imagined the trials that we would be facing nor how much we would need our faith. Our faith holds us strong through these long days and gives us courage to keep going regardless of how my journey twists and turns.
It most likely goes without saying that during this year we intend to pray. We already know that it works.
"Pray and pray much; it is in prayer that you will find the greatest strength."
~ Saint Just de Bretenières
Please join us and let me know so I can add you to our prayer list too. If you don't want to leave a comment - then pop me an email. I believe that we all have need for more prayer in our lives for the little things and the big things.
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
~ Philippians 4:13
