We have just one space left for Alice in Wonderland
you can see all the details here
We have ONLY TWO spots left for our Adventures in Wonderland event :)
The last two places will go to first in on email - I am going to be away until late tomorow night but will reply as soon as I get in :)
for Christmas this year I gave our friends son a copy of this book
I loved the graphics and he loves Max Brenner so I figured it couldn't be too bad ... he's been working his way through the recipes and if I'm lucky sometimes I'm over there to try one when it arrives from the oven and then other times like this week :) He arrives over here with a dish of something for me to try
So good - I'm not a huge brownie fan usually but this totally converted me
He scanned the recipe for me and tonight I have made it - I wanted a special treat to take for morning tea in the staffroom for end of term .
so a few disclaimers LOl
so not budget
so not low fat
but still surpirsngly easy - and well within my usual realm of could the girls make this?
I didn't let them - sometimes I just like to cook myself - they allowed me to do so by promising them they could lick the bowl. But they totally could it was really easy.
This is what almost a kilo of melted chocolate cream and butter looks like
and here is the recipe
Now when Tom made his he used milk chocolate - it was divine divine divine the recipe calls for dark chocolate and he suggested I try that so I have - It's really good but i think I prefer the milk - mind you I have eaten it fresh out of the oven out of the pan it's supposed to be wrapped and kept overnight before eating - which Toms was
So I'll sacrifice myself in the morning and have another piece for breakky and then pop back here and give you an update
Its tough but ill do it for you:)
PS I made this in two pans - it makes way more than a usual brownie recipe - huge amount
EDITED TO ADD
I did love the dark chocolate but I think I'm an even bigger fan of the milk chocolate
so I urge you to try both and let me know what you think roflol:)
this is just a quick public service announcement :)
in your next lot of shopping you may like to make sure you have
1 kg of dark chocolate ( dotn be scared)
some pecans or walnuts
and thickened cream
everything else you will have in your cupboard
why you ask?
I planned on using this stuff tonight but after an evening of parent tecaher interviews a scraped kne eand three lots of tears I don't want to catch the bus tomorrow to I dont want to clean my teeth i cant find my drink bottle and lunchbox Im settling down to not much lol
so its on my to make list tomorrow night
A to die for never make any other sort ever again chocolate brownie - huge huge dish that you really must share.
Did I mention the 1 kg of dark chocolate
Do yourself a favour grab the ingredients
Dee you tomorrow night for the recipe and pictures
You'll want to take it to work for morning tea or to your next girls day mothers club event - Really you will.
I know this was over forever ago in the US - but YAY for us its a new season of Project Runway
I love Tim and Heidi and so do the girls - so excited its on at 7.30 we can all watch
You can catch up on whats happening here although it hasnt been updated yet - still reading Oct 2009 LOL - the photo is new though.
And a word of warning dont google Project Runway Season 6 - you'll get lots of details - I like to keep it a surprise
for the record we thoguht tonights choice for elimination was just right!
is the only way I can describe todays run - I was conscious of keeping enough to get through to the end - 49 minute straight is the longest I have ever run
I am just 6 runs off my One Hour Runner goal ;)
ignorre the pace - look at the time LOL :)
if you're running today I hope you have a good one
PS lovely and cool here this morning which is a nice chnage
so earth hour didn't go quite as planned - we were prepared for sure
But my girls decided that sitting and chatting with me and my crafting by candle light was way better than reading in bed with their own candles - sigh LOL
and Richard well he was reading with his eyes closed - still is
I did however get my hot tea and chocolate brownie :)
I think I got about 15 minutes of quiet when I finally said enough go to bed blow your candles out LOL
some ridiculously blurry photos- i don't know what I was doing but it captures the event
But I seriously should do this again - In just an hour I completed 12 cards and 5 easter boxes - admittedly they were already printed I was just putting them together and I am going for simple this year -( if you read my easter bonnet post you'd know how true that is! )
I have taken some little noodle boxes added a cellophane bag inside and filled them with I'm not sure what sort of eggs they are- but candy outside and chocolate inside - really yummy - then sealed the boxes
Using some digital images I have resized and printed to sticker paper then stuck on each box - and added some ribbons
and finally some cards - using the digi images I had them printed up today in 6 x4 size ( 15 c a print on matt - at Camera House with my vip card ) and just stuck them to cardstock
I needed some for school staff and some for Richard's friends who have journeyed through the RCIA process with him.- so 12 all up :) we will be adding some bling too - girls can bling and write in their teachers cards
Tthe images I bought last year from house of 3 - this is the pack - it's a printable bag set - but a word of warning they do have 2009 on them and that's not editable - you have to create little boxes of colour over the top and then add a new date - Its simple enough to do but I didn't want you cross with me for not tellling you :)
I just used the images- edited them to suit - I also added in some extra text - for example the ones that say happy spring - doesn't work for us so I just changed that to you are blessed - same way - little shape box over the top and new text on top again.
For the noodle boxes I just cropped the images to 5 x 6 cms and for the card cropped to 4 x 6 inches . This is what I changed them to
Because they are not commercial use files nor did I make them myself just edited I can't share them with you but if you do go buy and get stuck give a yell I'll help you out no problem :-)
I think that now the Easter gift crafting is done - tomorrow is decos for the house and we will be planning some baking treats too for the easter weekend.
LOVE this time of year - filled with so much meaning.
The girls will be in bed reading by candelight - which they think is awesome
I'll be in the lounge room creating some Easter Cards - also by candellight
Richard will be reading too :)
We are stocked up on candles here
We going to time things right so we get a lovely cup of hot tea to go with some Max Brenner chocolate brownies just as the time starts. The brownies were made by a friend's son - OH MY GOODNESS - so good - but more on those later ;)
What ya doing?
PS feel free to borrow that image - I created it using House of 3 brushes :)
I digress from our usual style of budget recipe with this one
I think its still works out at great value but it was doing my head in trying to work it out wth the optional red pork so I gave up sorry LOL
But I thought it was worth sharing the recipe
Richards not a huge fan of cooking - which is perfectly fine - he is a fan of washing which I'm not so it kinda works
but he does have a few signature dishes
Fried Rice is right up there and when he made this for dinner last night I thought hey I should share that
I'm not sure he was so thrilled when he sat down at this computer later in the night and I said what are you doing ? can you type up your fried rice recipe and he said what?
I think he meant what the ?
Had a bit of a giggle when he emailed it through Man of few words my husband.- clear instructions though you have to give him that
We are spoiled in that Kim Richards Mum often sends home red pork for us
Its divine the way she makes it so we quite often have a loin in the freezer which Richard adds to the recipe
I have linked you up with one from Taste if you'd like to give it a try. red pork recipe
This makes heaps - A whole electric frying pans worth and we have it just by itself or with chicken skewers -Its a great weekend meal with plenty left over for lunches ( and snacks )
