The gorgeous May Collection is now on site! See it here
We welcome Nicole Wright as this month's guest designer
If you visit tonight you'll notice that the gallery hasn't changed to Suz's sneak peaks and Nics details aren't up - that all happens at midnight!
The May Calendar is also available for download - and we are still working on the graphics for the calendar page -its causing me grief I tell you! So ignore that terrible image and hopefully one of the Seventh Vision boys will come and rescue me soon - The PDF is right for download and all lovely so please do download and use that! - For those of you who have asked about April - I will make it available here on the blog. - soon ... I promise!
Raks for the winners of 20,000 Blog hits coming soon- Girls have had a big party day and can't be responsible for anything tonight -so that will happen tomorrow as will the competition details
Thanks as always to my long suffering friend Suz I am sure she dreads change over day as I demand this and that photo for hours on end - she is always so pleased to see it all happening - as am I - Sadly missing my proof reader extraordinaire who is off traipsing the world at the moment so I apologies in advance for any typos
Enjoy the site- let me know what you think :)
My goodness - I saw the stats a few days ago and thought holy dooly and then tonight - I had a look again and went oops missed the 20,000 turnover - But in light of that momentous occasion :)
Lets have a rak or two or three - I have some cool stuff here - I'll get the girls to draw the names out - they will think that is so fun - So there will be at least two - maybe even Richard can draw one too - BOY! have I copped it about my spaghetti marinara story - he is thinking of starting his own blog to compensate all I say about him - I tell him get on and comment you too can be heard LOL
Post me a comment - let me know you're one of those 20,000 ( eek can't really believe that! ) and the draw will happen in a day or two..
For my non scrapping family and friends - who lurk and email me about posts but don't ever comment - LIKE MUM - if you win I promise a non scrapping rak - shh don't tell the scrappers :)
I have been promising for some time - a cool competition - It is happening tomorrow or the next day - will be in line with the site changing over - so do visit again soon :)
It would be remiss of me not say thank you right now - to the friendship that spans thru this site - I always check the blogs of the people who comment - and try to let you know I have visited - I am humbled to be part if this community of life artists - all working to do what we can to make each moment count. Thank you xx
Before I was pregnant ( no chill everyone SOOOO NOT pregnant - I mean before the girls) I cooked - Like seriously cooked -
I planned meals weeks in advance
I bought cooking magazines
I shopped for ingredients and I cooked fabulous dinner parties -
Then I got pregnant - and suffered twin morning sickness that lasted all day until the 5th month and I hated food - I couldn't shop and I couldn't cook - actually I couldn't really eat much and then when I got over that I was too fat to cook -gave it up when I burnt my tummy on the oven one day pulling out a cake- then I had the girls and it was a blur of feeding them and cleaning and washing and generally running around like a mad thing and I had no time to cook - nothing beyond mashed up stuff anyhow
Anyhow they are three and a half and I still don't cook much - I still love food - I love looking at recipes but the innate desire to shop and prepare and cook has gone - totally gone- I would eat out every night now if I could. Every afternoon I get to about 3.30pm and say what am I going to do for dinner - long gone are the weeks menus on the fridge that my friends use to be in awe of ... - I ring Richard he says whatever you like - hmm so helpful..
Tonight was no different but I really tried.
I went to the shops I bought mince and the ingredients for seafood laksa- I made the cutest mini hamburgers for the girls and the laksa for us.
It took like 15 minutes tops. I was so impressed with myself.
Girls: What are they mummy?
Me : mini burgers
Girls: cool. I don't like mini burgers -
Me: What do you mean ? yes you do try them -
Girls: Where's the avocado
Me : On the burger look
Girls: I don't like the meat
Me: Just try it
Girls: I want tomato sauce . Oh look everything is a circle these are cute mummy
Me: I know they are cute now eat them
Girls: I don't want to. I want zert - What's for zert Mummy?
Me: There's no zert until you eat your mini burger.
Girls: Oh Yum Mumma look strawberries
Me: Leave the strawberries eat your burger
Girls: I want strawberries
I give in and dehead the strawberries. They go to bed with a tummy full of strawberries and chocolate yoghurt
We sit down to eat ours- Richard says Oh cool Spaghetti Marinara - I say no Seafood Laksa - Oh
You don't want this? No it's nice I just thought we might have spaghetti marinara
Up down up down getting the girls back to bed while we try to eat -
Richard says - do you want any more - Nope just get me another glass of wine please.
And they wonder why I don't cook like I used to.
PS Tomorrow night is lamb shanks with couscous - I have the crockpot ready to go - THAT is something I do well :)
Well finally completed - A- Z Album for Aussie Scrap - It's been a labour of love I tell you! And with only 3 days to go until the comp entries close for those of you who are on your last few pages - good luck - If you fell by the wayside then I urge you to get it out and scrap scrap scrap - It feels so good.
As I get ready for ISC I realise it has been a year since I started this project - because I had just started this time last year - The photos amaze me - the journalling amazes me - in just a year I see how much my girls have grown - This album is about my girls - the joys of being Mumma to girls and all the great things about being girly - Everything pink - although the pages themselves aren't - I developed a love hate relationship with the label made paper I chose for the album - but as I placed the last page in tonight I realised I was sad to be finishing - sounds crazy I know but it's a special album filled will all my favourite pictures and lots of quirky info about my beautiful daughters that without this tangible record time would erase.
Thanks to Cheryl and the gang at Aussie for taking me on this ride - so awesome
Here's a sneak peek - Catch me at ISC I'll take it to share :)
SO if you're not done yet - quick go finish and throw it in an overnight bag get it in . Mine is taking pride of place on top of my empty expediet - The time for me to unpack my "studio" has well and truly passed - That's me tomorrow - unpacking - actually no I'm packing ribbons for ISC and Collections for next month ...

Julie who I always say is my favourite, has finished designing with Mays collection already - She said she just couldn't stop :- Gotta love that - Except I have now sent her back to do more 'cause she finished early - That's the teacher coming out in me
Not sure I have said but I am actually on long service leave for a few weeks - It's great but wierd - Today marks day two of being home - I can ASSURE you I am not sitting round with nothing to do absolutely flat out getting a few new projects off the ground and sorting out a million things - but its very very quiet. I don't think I can cope with it actually - Although the phone goes regulary and I am on the phone and I'm on email and MSN it's not the same as the barrage of students through my office the ins and out of staff and the general busy days of school life. Not sure I am quite ready to let that side of my life go yet. It's a sobering thought really because soon I am going to have to decide... and I thought I already had.
Hello - It feels like forever since I visited here - I have had a much needed break over easter and have ignored the long to do list and overflowing inbox - not to mention the still partially unpacked house.. But back now- So many of you would have recieved late night emails from me :) and I think I am almost up to date...
On the home front
Rennovations going well - pics to come soon - It really is party proof Carpet - Talia vomited on it after it had only been down 4 hrs - and Easter Sunday - do you remember the people they drew on the walls? - Yep drew one of those in crayon on the carpet - NO I don't have pictures -was too busy throwing water on it to get it out.
Easter at our house
The Easter bunny visited very very early - as you can tell from the bleary eyes in the photos and the lack of light anywhere other than from the flash :0
Talia - Still with face paint from the day before when she was deposited at childminding in front of woolies so that the Easter bunny could purchase the eggs - She didnt want it washed off - I have to say that so you all know I am not a neglectful mother.
Sofia - Straight into the eggs...
Over to my Grandparents in the afternoon for the Traditional Easter Sunday BBQ -This is my Grandfather Pat - or Great as the girls call him.
And then just a few of my favourite shots that should make it to a page some day soon :)
That's all for now - Hope you are all enjoying your Collections!
